The Last Stretch of Virgin Forest in
East China------Mt. Tiantangzhai
At
a distance of 220 kilometers west of Hefei, Mt. Tiantangzhai
is a national key scenic spot and national forest park. Within
an area of 120 square kilometers, the region abounds with
marvelous natural spectacles like peculiar pines, bizarre
rocks, cluster of small lakes, brooks and springs, and flying
cataracts. Apart from 25 peaks topping 1000 meters, the
highest peak of the Dabieshan Mountain Range and also the
watershed between the Huaihe and Changjiang Rivers---Mt.
Tiantangzhai is 1729.13 meters above sea level.
